If you did not know there is is an underground world of people with Airsoft guns playing somewhere near you. They have created complete battlefields some are over 40 acres in size. They create environments for snipers, close combat zones and recreate areas like the, Ho Chin Minh Trails. This is not grown men playing bang bang, no this is men and women exploring a world of combat. It is the perfect escapism for some, others a way to relax and escape the pressures of everyday life. The Airsoft Arena is big business and it is here to stay, so a little more on the rules of play.

Airsoft is a relatively new sport/hobby based around military combat simulation. Many people compare it to paintball, however airsoft is less painful, more realistic and with a greater arsenal of weaponry and scenarios.

Do You Need To Own a Airsoft Gun ?

Most places hire the equipments on site, the reddit chatter reveals that at some areas the super fanatics bring extra guns to loan out to get more people into the sport.

Typical Airsoft Arena Rules

Ali professional airsoft sites have the same basic rules. Most are just common sense, and if you already play airsoft you will know them very well. To play airsoft games, you have to be a very sportsmanlike as the weapons don’t leave a mark when you hit someone. When a player is hit, they will raise their arm and call “Hit”, whilst silently moving away from the gaming area. Depending on the scenario played, the player may re-spawn and rejoin the game.

FPS (Foot Per Second) Limits

All FPS limits are quoted based on a 0.2g 6mm BB

    • Full Auto (AEG/Gas, Pistol & Rifle) 350FPS
    • Semi Mode Only (AEG/Gas Rifles) 425FPS with 4 seconds between shots to simulate cocking and to stop people spamming their trigger
    • Bolt Action Sniper Rifle (Spring Rifle Only) 500FPS

Any airsoft gun following these rules, that fire at above 350FPS should adhere to a 30 metre minimum engagement distance. It is the shooters responsibility to understand how far 30 metres is, as ignorance will not be accepted as an excuse for abuse of this rule.

Anything obscure will fall under the Full Auto category above with a maximum limit of 350FPS.

Propellant & Unapproved Devices

The use of propellants other than approved airsoft gas in gas guns is strictly prohibited. If you are caught using unapproved propellants, you will be asked to leave the site. Buy Green Gas. About Green Gas.

Player Abuse

Verbal (& physical) abuse is not tolerated at all. They usually have a 0% tolerance with this type of behaviour. If you loose it, you’re off the site. It’s that simple. all arenas promote a friendly place and attract friendly players. The airsoft community want to keep it that way.

Player Tag Numbers

Each team is given a colour (Orange, Green & Blue). This enables you to identify your enemy.
Each players tags are then numbered with their booking reference. This enables anyone to identify the specific person.
If you want to report a player for cheating, a hot gun, abuse etc. just tell a marshal the players tag number and we’ll pull him back to the safe area for a chat.

The ‘Bang’ Rule

  • Some sites have the  ‘bang’ rule” . More information will be provided at each sites safety briefing.

Over-Kill

  • Over-kill is not acceptable
  • Please be aware that some support weapons have increased firing rate and have magazines holding 4000 BBs. Walking in to the fire-path of these will result in multiple hits, so please use your own judgement before complaining about over-kill.

Weapon Handling

  • All shots should be fired using the weapons sights. No blind-firing shots.
  • Wherever possible, all shots should be aimed at the center-mass of the opponents body (e.g. chest or stomach).

Hits

  • A hit is when a BB directly hits your clothing, skin, or weapon.
  • Ricochets do count as hits.
  • If you are unsure about a hit, be a sportsman and take the hit.
  • If you are hit, and out of the game, you should move to a safe area of the game site until the game is finished. During this time, all safety protection must still be worn and weapons should be made safe with magazines ejected and your weapon’s chamber clear of any BBs.
  • Buy Airsoft BB’s

Eye & Face Protection

  • Eye protection must be worn at all times when outside the safe-zone. This can be full-face protection or safety glasses.
  • Players under the age of 18 must wear full-face protection.
  • To avoid facial injury, we recommend safety glasses and a half-mask to all players.
  • Ballistic glasses should be within the framed 2.0 surpasses, ANSI Z87.1, PRF31013 or EN167 rated.

Clothing

Players usually use dedicated clothing for airsoft so as not to damage any high value clothing or footwear. A good example of this would be combat clothing which can be purchased from an army surplus store as they are cheap to replace if damaged. Gloves are also advised as bare-skin injuries can occur. We take no responsibility for damage to personal clothing.

Safe Zones

The designated safe-zone has some specific rules to keep it safe.

  • No loaded weapons.
  • All magazines should be removed from your weapon.
  • Weapon chambers must be cleared of any BBs.
  • The weapon’s safety catch must be applied
